A Message from the President's Desk
|
As you may all know by now, this is my final report as your Local President. I have been
elected as your Region 5 President. My term starts March 1, 2008. Toni Oakes, our 1st Vice
President will move up to become the President, and at our last executive board meeting, we
appointed Diane Billings to the 2nd Vice President position. With business being taken care
of, now, with a heavy heart, I must say good-bye. It has been nineteen years since I first
became an officer here at Local 613, and we have certainly been through a lot together. We
have had many debates over the years, some of which we have agreed upon and others we
have not. However, we have always worked through our differences. It is my sincerest hope
that you know that I have always had your best interests at heart, and that I have always shown
you the same respect that you have shown me. I thank you all for the support that you have
given me over the years and during this recent election. I hope to be able to join you at our
next general meeting. Always remember…I will not be that far away, and if you need anything,
please do not hesitate to call.
